As more and more organisations transition from a traditional technology-based hierarchical structure to a Service Based Organisation (SBO), it’s logical to implement an IT Operating Model to provide a strategic framework to support the goals of the Enterprise IT Governance activities.

This paper outlines the five key concepts that define the IT Service Management (ITSM) Operating Model. It will also provide an expansion of the IT Operating Model at three levels – each level providing greater granularity and guidance on how the operation can function in an organisation.
